A 32-year resident of Morehead City, located in Carteret County, North Carolina, Bob opened his real estate appraisal and consulting office, Mashburn Appraisal Group, in December 1999. Since that time he has provided commercial and residential appraisal expertise primarily in eastern North Carolina.
Mashburn Appraisal Group offers appraising and consulting services to lending institutions, buyers, sellers, owners, investors, developers, attorneys, and public agencies. A partial list of Bob’s clients include First Citizens Bank, RBC Bank, Wachovia Bank, SunTrust Bank, Marine Federal Credit Union, Sound Bank, Bank of America, East Carolina Community Development, Inc., North Carolina Railroad Company, Small Business Administration, Chicago Title Insurance Co., US Environmental Protection Agency and most of the municipalities of Carteret County, NC.
His experience encompasses a wide diversity of property-types including vacant land, single-unit and multi-unit dwellings, single-unit and multi-unit office buildings, single-unit and multi-unit retail buildings, fast food franchises, hotels, industrial properties, proposed condominium developments, proposed subdivisions, conservation easements and feasibility and market studies.
Bob also has experience in real estate brokerage, real estate development and management; single-unit and multi-unit dwelling construction, and commercial construction; and has owned and operated two retail businesses. He is a general associate member of the Appraisal Institute, a member of the Carteret County Zoning Board of Adjustments, an advisory board member of the Carteret County Life Structure Training Program, and the Chairman of the Advisory Board for The Salvation Army of Carteret County.
Bob and his wife, Gaye, have four grown children and one grandson. Away from appraising Bob enjoys time with his wife and children, cooking, backcountry camping, music and kayaking.
